R & S Truck Body Company, Inc. has just recently been purchased by Godwin Manufacturing Company, Inc. in Dunn, North Carolina. With the purchase, our name changed to R & S-Godwin Truck Body Company, LLC. Being able to combine the strengths of both companies into one unit will add additional sales opportunities to both companies and it will certainly give all our customers a stronger partner in developing their markets.
Since moving to our new 140,000 square foot facility in September, 1998, we have worked very hard to bring several new and innovative products to the truck equipment market. These products include light weight aluminum bodies and trailers that do not use crossmembers in both a flat floor or elliptical design. The same body and trailer designs are also available in light weight steel units using special abrasion resistant materials.
Other products that have been added in the past couple years include a high lift gate option, heavy duty two way tailgates that do not require the removal of pins to change from conventional operation to side swing, and steerable truck suspensions in both a standard and light weight version.
